The scouts

It's a doc about identity politics that could've been a TED talk, but Tokanel and Pang refuse the easy lane—they let Tatenda's self-assertion breathe without soundtrack manipulation or redemption-arc editing. Most filmmakers would've made this about survival; they made it about presence.

Felix

Formally situated in the observational documentary tradition, though the restraint occasionally borders on underdeveloped—the film trusts its subject entirely, which is admirable if sometimes at odds with the shape a tighter editorial hand might've given the material.

Margot

The decision to hold on Tatenda's face during moments of quiet reclamation—letting a single glance or pause do the work that voiceover wouldn't—transforms what could be advocacy into something intimate and irreducible; it's the difference between being told a story and witnessing it.
