An actor diagnosed with a terminal disease is given the role of his lifetime and must decide whether it is worth dying for.

The scouts
The premise wants to be a philosophical nail-biter but lands somewhere between *My Life* and a TED talk—competent, occasionally dark, but never actually weird enough to justify the high concept. I'd rather watch something that commits to the absurdity instead of playing it safe with good taste.
Castañeda positions this squarely in the tradition of actor-as-subject existential drama, though the film doesn't quite achieve the formal precision or thematic depth of *Synecdoche, New York* or *F for Fake*—it's formally sound but lacks the architecture to elevate its premise into something that lingers.
The real film lives in whatever single choice—a glance, a pause before saying yes, the specific way the script handles the moment of acceptance—that transforms terminal diagnosis from melodrama into something earned; if Castañeda finds that one decision and builds outward from it, this becomes unforgettable on a 5-minute budget.

We had a great time interviewing Ed, learning about how he pulled off a fully produced short film in just 30 days and how he overcame some issues that happen on every set.
