Karlstad and Lyngvær use Norwegian fog and road as formal material rather than mere backdrop — the landscape does heavy craft lifting here. There's a quietly assured sense of duration that most music video directors don't trust themselves with.
"Misty Norwegian road trip" describes maybe half the music videos uploaded in 2015. Landscape as co-performer? It's landscape as B-roll.
A misty Norwegian road trip in dreamy fog-drenched register — Sigur-Rós-adjacent landscape music film is a familiar mode, well-executed but rarely surprising. Solid mood piece territory.
