God as a short-order cook, sentient soup as the tormented byproduct of creation—this is the kind of premise that makes you laugh and then immediately wonder if you just watched theology or a fever dream, and I'm obsessed with it. Azarmi's not interested in explaining the bit; she's just committed to the absurdity, which is exactly the subversive move that separates this from every other "what if" comedy.
There's a lineage here—the surrealist soup-logic traces back through Švankmajer and early stop-motion absurdism—but the execution feels formally uncertain, caught between sketch comedy and experimental narrative without quite settling into either tradition with conviction.
The choice to make the soup's distress genuinely pitiful rather than just a punchline is what makes this work; that tonal shift from gag to something almost tragic in three minutes is the decision that transforms a high-concept joke into something that actually lands.
