Tones: melancholic, tender, whimsical
A lonely mechanic with a hopelessly romantic imagination finds connection in unexpected places, in this atmospheric short commissioned by Tokyo clothing brand Pherrow's and shot on a Canon 7D.

Bo Hakala's Canon 7D cinematography achieves something unusual in branded work — a genuine loneliness of atmosphere — and Grant Cutler's score knows exactly when to stay out of the way, which is most of the time.
Six minutes of branded Pherrow's content trying very earnestly not to be branded content. Wong Kar-wai he is not; this is mood reel cinematography in search of an actual film.
Commissioned as Pherrow's branded content but resists the label — Jason Ho and Grant Cutler make a genuinely lyrical short that happens to share the brand's aesthetic. The Wong Kar-wai comparison is overreach but the gesture is sincere.
