A dialogue-free animated short that doubles as the official music video for electronic producer spktra's track 'Spirit Jumper' — five years in the making, designed to feel like a lost reel from a 1990s cel production, restored to 4K.

The scouts
A musical fantasy about transcendence that somehow avoids every expected beat—surreal enough to feel genuinely uncanny, tender enough to make you believe in it. This is what happens when you refuse the obvious.
The film situates itself in a lineage of lyrical animation that prizes emotional architecture over spectacle, with editing that lets silence carry as much weight as song. A formally considered work that trusts its audience's patience.
The sound design—how the music and ambient texture merge rather than compete—is what transforms a modest four minutes into something that lands like a feature; spktra made one choice about the relationship between song and image that makes everything else inevitable.
Reviews
The goal wasn't just to mimic a style, but to capture that feeling you have when you watch old animation. Hope it captures some of that for you. Enjoy!
