The scouts
Haring and Lilach Livne — who wrote the film together and then performed it themselves — give the stone its meaning through the way the camera refuses to explain it, holding still on the weight while the city moves around it. That restraint is the film's whole formal argument.
Woman with a stone tied to her body. Contest-derived, later expanded — that origin story shows. Metaphor-made-literal is hard to sustain past 90 seconds.
The stone tethered to the woman's body is pure visual metaphor made literal — the weight of longing rendered as physical fact, no explanation offered. A short instinct stretched cleanly to five minutes.
