A serial killer thriller that doesn't want to be a thriller—the real genre is a two-hander hostage comedy where boredom becomes the actual antagonist, and somehow that perverse inversion lands harder than any jump scare ever could.
Quintero constructs a taut chamber piece that owes debts to both the Safdie brothers' escalation grammar and the confined-space horror of '70s genre cinema, executing the tonal whiplash between dread and dark comedy with disciplined formal control.
The entire film pivots on the decision to keep the camera locked on the passenger's growing realization that he's *not* going to die—that single choice of restraint, of letting stillness do the work instead of cutting for panic, transforms what could've been exploitation into something genuinely unsettling.
