Jerome wears himself out in a repetitive office job; today nothing works as he wants, and what looks like a simple bad day could well become the breaking point.

Two minutes of a guy having a shit day in an office—sounds like every corporate drama ever made, except Sarremejane seems to know exactly which small humiliation to zoom in on to make it feel like watching someone's actual psyche fracture in real time.
The melancholic absurdism lands with formal precision; there's a lineage here—Tati's office dystopias, maybe Koreeda's attention to small ruptures—rendered through disciplined framing that trusts the viewer to feel the weight without being told.
What makes this work is the sound design in the silences and the decision to hold on Jerome's face just fractionally longer than comfort allows—that single beat of restraint turns a relatable bad day into something genuinely unsettling, and you see exactly where the breaking point lives.
