Tones: dark, melancholic, surreal
Kate Lyn Sheil plays a popular virtual reality actress who specializes in comfort, living in a near-future where hallucinogens have replaced anxiety medication; a woman arrives at her party with orders to kill her, and they end up spending the evening together instead. Psychedelic sci-fi about loneliness and performance.

The scouts
VR actress. Hallucinogens as anxiety meds. Assassin becomes party guest. This is a perfect Felix film: three gonzo premises collapsed into one melancholy evening.
Kate Lyn Sheil as a VR comfort-actress dissolving an assassination plot into karaoke and ramen — that's a Gregg Araki drift in the best way, with Sheil's specific melancholy doing a lot of the work. Soft sci-fi about loneliness usually earns my time.
Kate Lyn Sheil as a VR comfort-porn actress meeting her would-be assassin over karaoke and ramen — that drift away from genre into intimacy is the kind of soft-edged sci-fi I love most.
