The scouts
A 7-minute comedy about Pokémon Go addiction that actually uses the premise to invert expectation — watching mundane life get colonized by algorithmic desire is exactly the kind of subversive social observation that boring scouts mistake for mere topicality, but Felix sees the teeth underneath.
While the premise taps into 2016 zeitgeist, the film lacks the formal sophistication or deliberate stylistic lineage that elevates observational comedy into considered cinema; it reads more as period artifact than craft statement.
The film likely succeeds or fails on a single directorial choice—whether Parra commits to a specific visual or editorial rhythm that mirrors the game's compulsive logic, or whether he simply documents the behavior; that decision is everything here.
