The Big Parade
2021 · 10m · USA
Directed by Harrison Fishman
Tones: absurdist, humorous, whimsical
As Sandwich, Massachusetts gears up for its annual parade, magical string, a missing mayor, and a balloon man push the town toward something genuinely strange. A lo-fi comic oddity with hand-built special effects.

Magical string. A balloon man. A missing mayor. This shouldn't work but the colors and the deadpan local-news energy hold it together — wait, WHAT?
Lo-fi small-town tableaux in the spirit of early Hal Hartley or Matt Porterfield — a parade of oddballs as community portrait. The looseness is the point.
DIY VFX standing in as folk-horror omens during small-town parade prep — committed lo-fi worldbuilding with magical string and a Balloon Man is a vibe I'll defend.

A lo-fi comic oddity that goes where it wants to go.
