An ancient, mystical, and powerful being sets out in search of traces of its own humanity. The journey follows its pursuit of what it has lost.

A cosmic being moping about its lost humanity is basically the setup every pretentious fantasy short leans on—but Efremov's restraint in *not* explaining the premise, and the willingness to sit in pure visual abstraction rather than spell out metaphor, actually makes it sting.
The formal architecture here is impeccable: a 4-minute meditation on loss and temporal decay that understands how to use negative space and repetition in animation to echo themes of absence—the kind of precise control that only comes from understanding what lineage you're working in and why.
The decision to render the being itself almost as an absence—more suggestion than form—paired with the deliberate, almost sculptural movement of each frame, does infinitely more work than any amount of detail; that economy of gesture is where the whole film lives.
