The 3AM setup is horror boilerplate—we've seen the witching hour beaten to death—but if Gibbs is doing something genuinely weird with it, something that makes the premise *mean* something it shouldn't, I'm listening; the problem is four minutes might not be enough rope to hang a real subversion.
A lean, economical approach to folk-horror aesthetics that respects the grammar of the form: the temporal specificity of 3AM, the patient accumulation of dread, the restraint required to let waiting become the story rather than what arrives.
The real architecture here is probably in how Gibbs holds the camera during those waking moments—whether there's a single formal choice, a blocked movement or a sound design decision, that makes the waiting *feel* inhabited rather than just tense, that's what separates this from premise-as-horror into something that earns its 4 minutes.
Reviews
Witch is a beautifully shot micro-short but is lacking in the story department. It's a solid watch for the 5 minutes but don't expect something that is story rich.
