GOBELINS student film with 200K views and the ceiling-leak-as-domestic-tension device — yes, the metaphor is on the nose, but four students made something with actual emotional weight in under five minutes. I'll allow it.
GOBELINS graduation films are their own canon by now, and Thermostat 6 with its ceiling-leak-as-family-pathology has rightfully become a touchstone of the genre's tactical use of ordinary objects. A small masterpiece of the form.
200K views, 1,771 likes, GOBELINS 2018 grad film with Arthur Dairaine's score — the leak-above-the-family-dinner-table conceit is the kind of single-image metaphor GOBELINS does devastatingly well. This is canon student animation.
