The scouts
Time travel weaponized for interpersonal pettiness — the Terminator energy redirected toward romantic grievance is exactly the kind of premise inversion that makes me actually want to watch something.
Mirhosseni and writer Elisha Yaffe invert the sci-fi playbook by making the time-travel mechanics irrelevant — the film earns its laughs by holding on the deadpan reaction shot every time the boyfriend vanishes, trusting performance over explanation.
Mirhosseni and Yaffe deploy time travel purely as relationship-comedy machinery — competent, charming, and entirely conventional. Pleasant Partizan-produced material that doesn't disrupt the form.
