Patients with ataxia, a rare and harsh disease, have no acting experience but plenty of humor and determination. Encouraged by their association FEDAES, they self-record a short film to give their condition visibility.

Everyone's going to applaud the 'brave subjects' angle and miss what's actually radical here—a film that refuses inspiration-porn sanctimony and lets ataxia patients be funny, petty, and fully human instead. That's the subversion nobody expected.
There's a lineage of participatory documentary here that traces back through Vertov and into contemporary disability cinema, but what arrests me is the formal restraint—the film trusts its subjects' own editorial eye rather than imposing auteur vision onto their testimony.
The decision to let the patients self-record and direct their own visibility flips the entire power dynamic of the documentary form, and suddenly you're watching cinema built on *their* timing and humor rather than a filmmaker's interpretation of pathos.
