Tones: contemplative, tender
Between the banality of daily gestures and the outside news, Solange and her daughter Ariane talk through their situation.

The scouts
Two minutes of a mother and daughter talking while the world spins outside—sounds like therapy-session TV, but Lechevalier's refusal to dramatize or resolve anything is genuinely perverse; she lets the mundane *be* the subject and somehow makes that bracing.
A precise formal exercise in the tradition of Chantal Akerman and Agnès Varda: the domestic interior as a space where time moves differently than it does on the news cycle, and Lechevalier's restraint in cutting and framing elevates what could be mere conversation into something architecturally sound.
The hold on Ariane's face during that one beat when she stops talking—not quite reaction, not quite acceptance—is where the whole emotional weight lives, and Lechevalier trusts it enough to let the camera stay still instead of doing the work for us.
